UPE Seminar Series
UPE holds a weekly seminar series in the broad field of Ecology, with seminars presented by invited internal and external speakers.

UPE Annual Research Symposium and Retreat
Each year UPE holds a research symposium in which students, postdocs, and faculty present new research results.  This weekend event also includes outdoor activities, such as “Ecology Olympics.” 

UPE Thematic Symposium
The 2020 UPE Thematic Symposium (People and Nature) has been cancelled.
The UPE Thematic Symposium is a research symposium designed and organized by graduate students, focusing on a topic of interest to the UPE community.  Duke and external invited speakers present and discuss research results.

J. Henry Oosting Memorial Lecture
The 2020 Oosting Lecture has been postponed until the fall semester.
This is annual lecture delivered by an eminent ecologist.

Place-Based Research Excursions
Join us for a series of excursions to local field sites, intended to enable conversation across sub-fields of Ecology and to inspire discussions of the role that place plays in ecology research.
